Dude. IMPOSSIBLE to put together. The most impossible thing I have ever put together. The reason is that the wooden holes are too small for the nails. My husband got blisters on his hands from screwing those nails into the wood by hand. If it wasn’t Easter I would have sent it back for a new one. I wasn’t able to screw in some of the screws all the way, it was literally impossible. I never write reviews but we were in shock and thought buyers should know.
This is an absolutely wonderful wooden dollhouse-sturdy, detailed, and loaded with everything a child could want for imaginative play! It comes complete with adorable people figures (they can sit and have clever Lego-style cupped hands for holding accessories), tons of furniture, and full rooms including a nursery, bathroom, kitchen/living area, and even an outdoor patio with a grill. The rotating front door adds a fun touch, and the working elevator is a huge hit-kids love sending the dolls up and down!Assembly was straightforward overall-they include a screwdriver, but I switched to a power drill for faster tightening (highly recommend if you have one). It took me lees than 50 minutes. (Pro tip- I used a needle threader to get the elevator string through the hole. )The instructions are on a single sheet and mostly clear, but pay close attention to details: I accidentally forgot to install the room divider between the kitchen and living room, and my first-floor backing panel was flipped the wrong way. Haha—easy fixes once I spotted them, and nothing major. I walk through the whole house (and my little oops moments) in my video if it helps! They provide extra screws which is a good thing since one of them was seriously bent. The dollhouse feels high-quality and durable, with plenty of space for creative storytelling. My granddaughter is going to absolutely adore this-she’ll be playing with it for years, hosting barbecues on the patio, bedtime routines in the nursery, and elevator adventures galore. It's the perfect gift for sparking endless fun and imagination.5 stars – Highly recommend for ages 3+ (or whenever they're ready for detailed play). My granddaughter is two and it is perfect for her. Worth every penny!
The dollhouse was a lot smaller than I expected so pay close attention to details about the size. The house itself is well made with super cute rooms and great accessories. Besides being fun for child’s play, it would be nice for someone who likes to collect dollhouses and since it is so small would not take up a lot of space if you want to display it. The main issue I had was that it was difficult to assemble because all of the holes were not properly drilled. Even my son could not get the screws in. We will definitely have to use a small drill bit to enhance some of the holes so the screws will go in. Also one of the wood planks was a slightly damaged. That is the only reason I gave it 3 stars. Hopefully this is a isolated case. I will be able to assemble it with a few modifications, but it would have been nice if I could have done so with the tool provided so I could have provided a picture with the complete setup.
This is the second time I've received this dollhouse set (collecting for a toy drive), and the good quality is consistent between the two. The wood is reasonably thick, and even the thinnest sheets aren't flexible at all. The edges are smooth and the set has even painting that's free of streaks or chipping. The whole set is properly finished and has the images already applied to the walls. The assembly isn't bad and the instruction sheet is easy to understand. All of the hardware and a screwdriver are included. It's a combination of screwing some pieces together and sliding some of the walls into grooves within the framework. It takes around half an hour for the physical assembly, once you have looked the instructions over and sorted your parts. I like that the elevator is on a track to secure it to the wall. I've had a different house that had this same feature, but it just hung there and had to be guided through the holes. This design works much better. The elevator is made of wood, but the turnstile door is thick plastic, with easy movement. All of the furnishings are assembled, so it's just the house. The figures are plastic, just under 2 inches tall, and can bend to sit down. They have hands similar to Lego people, but there's nothing for them to hold. Once assembled, you get a strong, medium sized dollhouse that's suited for younger kids, around 3 through 7 years.
