Inclusivity for all shapes and sizes! Not everyone looks the same! Why not foster acceptance of differences from a young age.
I recently purchased the Barbie Fashionistas Doll #189 with a prosthetic leg, and I have to say, it's a remarkable addition to the Barbie line. Here's why: 1. **Inclusivity**: This doll represents a significant step towards inclusivity in the toy industry. It's wonderful to see Barbie diversifying its range to reflect the real world and empower children with disabilities. 2. **Inspiration**: This doll serves as an inspiring role model for children with prosthetic limbs. It shows them that they can be fashionable, confident, and achieve anything they set their minds to. 3. **Attention to Detail**: The attention to detail in this doll is impressive. The prosthetic leg is realistically designed and attaches securely, allowing children to interact with the doll without worry. 4. **Fashionable**: As with all Barbie Fashionistas dolls, #189 is fashion-forward and trendy. The outfits are stylish and encourage imaginative play. 5. **Quality**: The doll is well-made and durable, which is essential for playtime longevity. 6. **Positive Message**: This Barbie sends a powerful message about diversity and acceptance, teaching kids that differences should be celebrated. 7. **Educational**: It can also serve as an educational tool to help children understand and normalize physical differences. 8. **Collector's Item**: For collectors, this Barbie is a unique and valuable addition to their collection due to its cultural significance. Barbie Fashionistas Doll #189 with a prosthetic leg is not just a toy; it's a symbol of progress, inclusivity, and empowerment. It's a fantastic choice for parents who want their children to learn about diversity while enjoying creative playtime. Barbie has taken a commendable step forward with this doll, and I highly recommend it.

What a catch!
First of all I don't really understand why people here are complaining that the prosthetic leg of the doll isn't moving at its joint. For ages, none of the fashionistas have any movements on their limb joints unless it's specifically mentioned on their covers. So why would only the prosthetic one shall possess a movement? So theirs complaints do not make any sense. Besides, it's the Mattel's effort that counts for bringing us a new line in a different light which they never did before for a long time. And they gave the doll a tan to also bring in some colour diversity although the make has the basic features of a Caucasian face sculpt. The dress is pretty and the pink hair speaks of social confidence. I think, as a start off in being inclusive towards the folk with disabilities, this doll certainly hits the mark of 'acceptance for diversity'. Even the grey shades that come along are not ordinarily shaped. But I think the model looks better without it. The prosthetic leg is a bit longer than the other, but I ain't sure if that's the way it is meant to be. However, because of the flat feet (which are very cute, btw), if adjusted correctly on a leveled surface, the doll stands easily with no support of some back rest or the much needed stand which is always missing. Plus, being available at almost half a rate, why should a collector even hesitate to add this "rare beauty" to theirs doll collection! ps: the hair is super soft but mine one's remains a little raised beyond the neck line; so I had to tie the rubber band that held the glares in the box, to turn it into a luscious pink pony, which neatly domesticates the doll, thus creating a look of more at home or just a casual walk down the subway to shop.
